1. Why does my child need X-Rays?
   • X-Rays can show tooth decay that may not be visible to the naked eye, such as between the teeth.
   • X-Rays can determine if there are spacing issues in your child’s mouth.
   • Problems with the roots of a tooth can be best detected through the use of a dental X-Ray.
2. When should my child get his or her first X-Ray?

Most children receive their first dental X-Ray around between the ages of 5-7 when the adult teeth begin to erupt. These X-Rays will help determine if the teeth are coming in correctly and to make sure there’s enough room in the mouth for all the adult teeth.

3. Should I be concerned about radiation exposure?

The amount of radiation that your child is exposed to during a single set of dental X-Rays is very small. We will also provide your child with a lead apron, which will protect their body from the radiation. So, there is no reason for concern!
