Lingual Braces in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Lingual braces on the interior of young mouthLingual braces are not as well known, but they are a great alternative to traditional metal braces. Lingual braces are placed along the backs of the teeth instead of the front, making them less conspicuous. There are also differences in terms of comfort, fit, and discretion. If you’re interested in lingual braces, please read on!

What are Lingual Braces?

Lingual braces still use the wires and brackets like traditional braces but are installed onto the backs of the teeth. Lingual braces face the tongue instead of being placed along the front surfaces of the teeth. This allows lingual braces to be almost invisible; a more discrete option, which is especially appealing to our adult patients.

Below are a few other benefits of having lingual braces instead of traditional metal ones:

  • Discolorations or white spots on the teeth will not be visible once your lingual braces are removed.
  • Lingual braces are custom fit for each patient, making them comfortable to wear.
  • Provides an almost invisible form of orthodontic treatment
  • Receive the same benefits as traditional metal braces without the self-consciousness of bulky orthodontics.

Here at Lockett Orthodontics, we want all of our patients to be educated on the orthodontic options available to them. If you’re interested in lingual braces for yourself or your child, please make sure to ask Dr. Rhoda Lockett if you’re a good candidate. To make an appointment, please contact our Colorado Springs, Colorado orthodontic office today.
